November 2016
New arts documentary,
Oíche Chaillte an tSeanchaí/The Lost Night of the Storyteller (38 mins) premiered on TG4. This tells the story of 'Oidhche Sheanchais', the first talkie film ever made in the Irish language. Directed by 'father of the documentary', Robert Flaherty in 1934 as he completed his classic 'Man of Aran', this celluloid gem was thought lost for decades until a print was found in Harvard University in 2013. 'Oidhche Sheanchais' was the only film ever made of a seanchaí storyteller when that tradition still survived. Our documentary was followed on TG4 by the first ever tv broadcast of that seminal film.
